Swimming, more than a sport created to compete is a necessity if one reference, the survival of man against the world around him. It is generally known that man since its inception has been to manage to survive in a world full of obstacles. The need to hunt by land was always a means leading to an end, which was to feed. But what about those who lived near the sea ?, no doubt that the man had to become familiar with the sea almost as an obligation, and is fed through fishing or hunting in the water, it is very similar to hunt beasts in jungle, only differ in the atmosphere.

As a competition, it is known that there are four swimming strokes: freestyle, backstroke Style, Style or breast breaststroke and butterfly.

Swimming as competition aims to overcome rival for speed and distance. Training usually consists of overcoming previously marked time in order to become better every day. Swimming is a very popular sport, in fact began to be during the nineteenth century, and today is considered within the Olympics.

Among the sports that fail to develop good muscles, swimming is among the best to develop a good upper body, due to the constant movement of the arms. Generally, the more muscle benefited in this sport is back, as swimmers tend to have a strong and toned back.
